Who built the dashboard?

This dashboard was developed by the Marine Corps Logistics Command's Data & Analytics Office (CDAO). For questions related to this tool or recommendations related to its contents contact the LOGCOM CDAO Office.

Purpose

The purpose of the dashboard is to display current Asset Posture of USMC Ground Equipment. We define Asset Posture as data visuals that answer the following four categories of questions:

  • What are the Corps' equipment requirements (Tables of Equipment) by TAMCN and the organizations (UICs) that use the equipment for a particular mission?
  • What equipment does the Corps possess and where is it? ( Inventory by AAC and NIIN )
  • What is the materiel condition of the inventory (Open service requests and their status, repair parts, costs )
  • What supply chain activity is occurring relative to open service requests (Requisitions and their status, quantity due, on back order, etc. )

What Is In This Dashboard?

Currently, this dashboard contains more than 20 pages of visuals that attempt to provide answers to questions about the above four categories. As the dashboard matures over time, there will, no doubt, be many changes . . . and likely more pages full of visuals. The world of USMC logistics is a very complex world. This dashboard represents the intersection, the nexus of policy, process, the many logistics information systems, and the myriad data interfaces between them. . . the world of logistics data analysis is inherently complex.
